1. DON’T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS

We're gonna kick this checklist off right here with "don't make assumptions." You might recall this is one of the four agreements. It is SO important in sales. As soon as you assume the person on the other end of the call can’t afford you it’s game over. And don't assume they don't want to pay the price you've set for your offers. Why are you making assumptions about how they spend their money or how they value you? Their money isn't about you. Your magic, your brilliance, and what you're here to do to impact this world is about you. Charge a fair price for it (probably higher than you're charging now) and let them pay it.  You never know what magic they’re going to pull out of their hat (or wallet) when they see the value in working with you. If you need to write this out and post it and put it next to your computer, go for it! Mine has so much tape from being moved to three different offices over the last 2 years. And if you're making assumptions about the groups you're in or the people you're connected to, like maybe they don't know, like or trust you so why should they buy from you... well, we'll solve that with step 6. 2. Ask Yourself: “Do I have what they need?”

If you do, the pressure of sales goes away. They have a problem + You have the solution = You’re legit and can help them and what you offer is valuable. Probably more valuable than you’re selling it for. My family has had a wedding officiant business since the 1980's. When a couple calls to get married we know that we have exactly what they need. There is no question, doubt or feeling like a fraud. They wanna get hitched - we hitch em'! Think of your business this way: Potential client reaches out, you hear what they need, and if you know you can help them, you tell them and also share what it costs. Easy! Do your best to get out of your head about the "sales" part of it. You don't have to "sell" them on anything if you can help them with their problem. If you find yourself trying to talk them into working with you, check your energy and dial it back. Your intuition will tell you if it's a match before your client even will. 3. Ask For Referrals and Testimonials

People trust other people, sometimes more than you until they feel that they can trust you. You only gain trust with transparency and authenticity. So just be more YOU! If you feel guilty about “asking” for referrals or testimonials, just remind yourself that it’s not really about you anyway. You are asking because you want to help people. And you want to make money so that you and your family can have a nicer life, and so that you can contribute to the causes you really care about. Still, feel guilty? Ok fine - incentivize them for the referral such as a free 20-minute breakthrough session or a $100 gift card or program credit for every paying client they send your way. But keep in mind they want their friends to work with you so that they can grow too! So, by asking for referrals you’re directly helping the people they care about. Don't you love telling your friends what to buy, what to read, what to watch, and who they might want to work with? They do too. It's fun to share! TIP: Video testimonials are very powerful. You can use a program like a video ask or have them send you a digital file. Below is one of mine and I have a handful more on my coaching program website if you want to take a peek. I also post them on social media on occasion to remind my tribe of the incredible results my clients are getting from working with me.

You know what... I'm not done about this one.. You help people EVERYDAY and you always have! You don’t need clients to prove to yourself that you’re good at what you do. If you are just getting started and don’t have a lot of clients yet, ask the people who have done freebie calls with you how you’ve helped them, and ask friends and family how you best help them. Make a list of your results and share them with your audience. You are that amazing! This is also how you'll gain clarity on your messaging and niche down even more to serve the right people. PS: Don't forget step 3 which ties in here. Gathering testimonials will be a fast way to learn about your client results. They will share powerful transformations that will fill your heart! 4. Believe In What You’re Selling

When I was in my 20’s I sold electric litter boxes at the mall. I sold thousands of dollars worth of these bad boys because I loved the product and I had one for myself. BUT as soon as it started to break down and it wasn’t easy to fix anymore, my sales went down because I stopped believing in it. I no longer thought it was the answer to my kitty litter prayers. You have to love and believe in what you’re offering. If there is anything about your offer that doesn’t sit right with you, shift it, change it. You are the entrepreneur and you get to decide what your business and your offers look like. I like to design offers that I would also buy. If I wouldn’t buy it, I’m not selling it. 5. Showcase Your Authority

The value of my coaching services went up significantly when I added online courses to my offerings.  My clients like to watch my teachings on-demand, at their own pace, and then come to our scheduled calls for higher level touch points.  What can you add to what you already offer? Do I need to remind you how much you KNOW? You know more than you think you know.  You are powerful beyond measure. Not only do you probably have some certifications but you have the 'school of life".  Your life experience counts more these days than a college degree (and if you have both that's awesome too).  As a course creation producer, so many clients come to me thinking they don't have enough to teach to fill an entire course. But by the time they get through the first few modules of my program they realize not only do they have enough for a course, they have MULTIPLE courses within them. This is why courses turn into programs and books turn into series. If you've ever written or outlined a book then you're already halfway there to creating your course. The online course industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. People buy courses to learn and level up, and also for hobbies, or personal development. If you're passionate about it and you like sharing about it, consider going from helping one person at a time to helping lots of people at a time. Yes, this is one of the things I do that led to my first six figure month. I've been doing this for huge brands and major universities since 2014.

6. SHOW UP!

This is probably the most important one. As soon as I stopped hiding and started posting, emailing, going live, and telling people about the results my clients were getting and just authentically being ME on my lives and content, I started receiving tons of client inquiries. There was one week recently where I had 4 or 5 clarity calls booked per day! I don't have time to do that anymore but I do open my calendar up on occasion to stay in touch with my audience. Pro Tip: No matter how successful you become, don't turn into an out of touch superhero. That kills your relate-ability. If people don’t know what you dohow will they know that they should pay you for what you do? Going back to #1, don’t assume they know. Show up regularly where your tribe and ideal clients are hanging out. Not sure where? We can chat about that if I have the availability. Otherwise just message me.

7. Spend Time With Your Tribe

This means (especially if you’re just starting out or launching a new program you’ve never offered before) do free calls or host low cost events. Yes, I know your time is valuable. Mine is too. But the more you get to know your ideal clients and what their needs are, they better you will be as a coach, and the better crafted your offers will become. These can be 10 minute jumpstart calls, or even 15 minutes together in the DM’s chatting. Pro Tip: Please don't send unsolicited DM's to people. DM convos are only started when the comment thread is getting too personal for the public. The point is, be generous in the beginning so you can learn and they can experience you. But don’t give it all away! Don’t stay in the DMs all day and don’t do 1 free hour calls that aren't sales calls. Give a little, get a little and organically develop the relationship. Another way to spend time and to be more of your authentic self is to go comment and be unconditionally helpful on other people's post.

Go share your zone of genius when and where you can. This helps to establish yourself as a caring, loving, expert. Don't make offers, don't pitch. Just connect!

Allow people to know you, like and trust you by being a good human. Plan for 15 minutes a day. Easy! Do it from the toilet if you want, just make sure you don't accidentally go live! Finally, hosting a workshop, a masterclass, event or a fun themed online party is a great way to show up and connect. You get to try on new ways of shining and see who is drawn to you. I love hosting in-person content creation events! It helps me to get to know my client base even more because we're in person.

When is the last time you got out of your comfort zone and stepped away from the computer to connect? It feels good once you do it. I promise! Treat others the way you want to be treated.

When you know who you serve you easily find them and they find you. When my ideal clients read my Trailblazer declaration they see themselves in it like a mirror. It’s in the featured section of my Trailblazer Facebook group as well as right below here. If someone reads it and doesn't resonate with it, they're not my ideal client and that's ok. I can still connect them with the best coach for them.

9. Meet Them Where They’re At and Amplify Them

After I tested the results from the first launch of what is now my signature coaching program, The Brilliance Method, I realized that my clients get BETTER and FASTER results in group coaching and being able to access the video courses than they did with just having the course with one on ones. I researched "group coaching" and found it to be proven over and over with scientific data to back it up. Group coaching is simply just better for the clients. We achieve results more quickly when we are learning from the questions others ask and when we share our journey with others and receive coaching in a group. Sharing in a group invites an energy of mindfulness and presence. Being part of a group also adds to your personal accountability. So be open to shifting your business. It is YOUR business after all. You are the boss. You get to do what is best for you and your clients. You don’t have to sacrifice anything. If they want something you can offer and deliver better results with, give it to them.

10. Stop Making Decisions For Your Target Audience

This is similar to “don’t make assumptions” but putting the energy in your court. You don’t get to decide how other people spend their money. If you have a $2k, $10k or even a $100k+ offer and you think they can or only want to pay half, that is none of your business. Let them decide.

Otherwise you're judging them. You just show up, be awesome, provide value, serve like a boss and ask for what you deserve. If you’re not sure what to even charge or where to start, send me a message and ask me for the replay of WEALTH BECOMES HER, my virtual retreat all about MONEY.

But be prepared I’m probably going to tell you to charge more and you’re going to be uncomfortable until you feel totally powerful! One day you’ll laugh at how little you charged when you first started out. That I promise you!

11. Say The Price And Shut Up

#sorrynotsorry but the worst mistake you can make on a sales call is talking after you say the price and/or invite them to join. When your potential client hears the price or invitation they will require a few moments of silence to process, justify, and feel worthy. Their brain is literally moving the information from fear to excitement, from the back of the brain to the front. Let this happen. Fight every urge you have to jump in and keep talking or talk down the price or increase the value. Say the number (or if they knew the number before they came on the call you will invite them officially if it's a match) and close your mouth. Let them talk next. This is their journey, not yours. If they have a question or objection they will let you know. And keep in mind that money objections are not real. If you disagree let’s chat. But meanwhile, think about a time (or all the times) you spent money you didn’t think you had. Or if you’ve heard about a friend or colleague who dropped $30k on a program because she believed in it. The value is in the results and the transformation - not in the money spent. They will 10x their money or health or love (or insert your result here) working with you because they’ll be saving money on all the BS they’d be buying ala carte all over the internet instead of having everything streamlined through your program. So say the price. Close your mouth. Let them receive, create and believe. Trust that you've done the work and the price is right. Pun intended.

12. Ask for Help

When you work with a coach, they will coach you, brainstorm with you, hold you accountable, give you intuitive direction, help you gain clarity - together you make a plan, but you have to do the work.

You GET to do the work.

When you have clarity on your game plan, strategies that feel aligned and a rock star coach in your corner, you are limitless. Having that connection is power.

As my friend Andrea Quinn says, "The only reason you were born is because two people decided to connect." If you think you can and should do this alone, ask yourself what you're trying to prove and who you're trying to prove it to. I was guilty of this, until Quinn also said, "Hey! Get off the cross, we need the wood!" WOW.

And damn. She was right. I was so commited to proving that I could do it myself, even if it's hard, that I spent years only living my dream of coaching part-time because I wasn't earning enough as a coach yet to leave my full time job as a video producer.

When I finally hired my first business coach in 2018 I finally started to shift my mindset and learned new marketing strategies. The first big shift was saying yes to investing $11k into my business which built the self assurance that I believed this crazy idea was actually gonna work (phew, glad it did)! His program was a hybrid of group coaching with an online course and I loved it.

Then in 2020 I joined another group program specifically for coaches who were growing their businesses online through courses. I learned a lot but desired more authentic stragetegies, not templates and scripts which is what the bulk of the program was. That works for some people, but it felt more like a crutch. I prefer outlines over scripts. With an outline, you will fill in the blanks with your heart and soul, with your soulmate client's desires. I also don't want you reading during a sales call. Take a deep breath and just be present with the other person who is just as excited to be there with you!

I booked a new Sapphire client right after saying yes to investing in myself and my business through working with my next coach, because that's the energy of alignment.

This energy shift occurs when you believe in yourself enough to invest in your business and knowing as you level up, the calibre of coaching will be at a higher level as well.

ALSO - buy from happy people. If your favorite "guru" is a multi-millionaire but she's cranky all the time and gossips about other people, you probably won't enjoy her program. Buy from people you look up to and NOT just for the money they make. If they are a happy, peaceful, self-assured person, they can guide you in that direction too.

The universe wants you to have an abundance of health and wealth and happiness. And it will prove it to you when you believe in yourself.

13. Tune Into How YOU Feel When You Are Helping People AND Making money

It feels amazing! I took this photo right after a workshop I taught where I tuned into that feeling and closed a Sapphire client the next HOUR!

How do you feel when you a part of an incredible result or transformation?

How do you feel when you are the catalyst of someone's big shift, when you've pushed that first domino and they finally believe in themselves again?!

It feels AMAZING!!!!

Let this be your driver every time you're scared. Their results are worth it but so are yours. You get to feel this way! You're a part of it!

I want you to imagine what it feels like to have YOUR payment portal alert you that you just received a soulmate client simply by being yourself, sharing the truth of what you stand for and stand against, and offering the proven results that your future clients want for themselves. It's magical.

14. Know Your Worth

Do you know your value and feel good about what you charge? If you do, this will carry you through anything and everything.

In 2021 I was in the middle of a brief dry spell when my energy was pulled to be present for a death in the family. In the same month, I was asked to be a keynote presenter on the biggest Women's Empowerment Summit that has ever happened.

When I was being interviewed, the summit producer was in shock that my program was so affordable.

She kept repeating herself, "wait, your group meets every week, for 2 hours? Every week? And you're not charging more?! That's a great value! Why isn't it $20k or $30k?"

That was so healing for me to hear during a time when I hadn't brought anyone new in for a couple of weeks. She is right! It IS a great value! And there's also bonus calls every month. WHAT?!

I hung up with her thinking "why aren't I charging more?!" What validation and self-belief do you require to believe in your worth?

This is a big accomplishment that my clients have in my program. Not only do they feel good about their value and worth, they start charging it. AND they are committed to giving themselves a raise every 3 months.

When it comes to what you should charge, do not rely on certifications or degrees either. You have the school of life and the experience of helping and inspiring others for longer than you probably realize.

If you're brand new, yes, you might test out lower price points to build up your confidence, but after you've gotten your feet wet and your first few clients have gotten results, give yourself a raise. Please. The world needs more kind people with money.
